OFFICE/PERSONNEL MANAGER
Salary - $62,000.00 Annually
Full-Time, 32 hours per week
NATURE OF WORK
This is responsible administrative and supervisory work coordinating various managerial and personnel functions of adult and juvenile rehabilitation programs. These functions include planning, organizing, implementing and supervising various aspects of the agency’s personnel policies and procedures.
An employee in this class is responsible for daily record keeping of staff attendance, employee performance reports and maintaining employee personnel files. He or she reconciles bank statements, prepares payroll time sheets and assists with the preparation of reports to various funding sources, and assists with other fiscal and agency tasks as requested.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of the principals of general management, accounting and supervisory principles and practices.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local governments and county laws, rules and regulations pertaining to agency operations.
Knowledge of general personnel principles and practices and agency’s personnel policies and procedures.
Knowledge of inventory control and agency procurement and requisitioning procedures.
Ability to supervise employees in a manner that encourages full performance and high morale.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in devising, implementing or interpreting agency or county wide rules, regulations,
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, agency officials, officials of other agencies and the general public.
Ability to express ideas and information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Ability to discern and extract pertinent facts from oral and written guidelines, policies and procedures and apply them to a variety of problems.
Ability to develop and implement training programs for employees.
Ability to initiate and install administrative programs and procedures. The ability to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and procedures and ascertain whether agency goals and objectives are being met.
DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited College or University in business administration, human resource management or related field or course work with several years of experience in personnel management. Experience in pre-trial release and/or intervention is preferred but not required.
